George Gascon’s “Big Con” of Proposition 47 handcuffs security guards from doing their jobs.

George Gascon’s “Big Con” of Proposition 47, empowers criminals, drug offenders and thieves… while handcuffing security guards from doing their jobs.

Prop 47 was co-authored by George “Gaslight” Gascon and is called “The Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act,” which instead of keeping our neighborhoods and schools safe, actually downgraded and reclassified many crimes from felonies to misdemeanors. Gun theft, repeated shoplifting, forging checks, drug possession (including possession of date-rape drugs) were all felonies before the passage of Prop 47 – they are now misdemeanors.

All of us in Los Angeles County have witnessed the devastating effect of Prop 47 on our communities. Today, a criminal can steal up to $950 PER THEFT and the crime is always a misdemeanor. The thieves can steal over and over again with no consequences. Many other states have dollar amount caps on misdemeanor versus felony thefts which are CUMULATIVE, not per occurrence. This stops repeat offenders and protects the public and business owners from serial thieves.

In addition, Prop 47 reclassified possession of any illegal drug – including cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine as a misdemeanor violation.  This has decimated the legal system’s ability to compel addicts to enter drug rehabilitation programs.

Gascon continues to GASLIGHT the residents and businesses of Los Angeles County about the effects of Prop 47 on our community. The truth is it has been a complete disaster that negatively affects every age group, every economic class, every culture, and our residents, businesses, investors, homeowners, renters, tourists, patrons, vendors, and schools in every one of our 88 cities in Los Angeles County.

Gascon’s policies have incited exploding levels of shoplifting, retail theft, homelessness, shuttered family businesses, retail chains moving out of LA County, drug-related deaths… and FEAR spreading like a cancer throughout our neighborhoods.

GASCON MUST GO!
